') you are using an outdated browser. please upgrade your browser to improve your experience. fallibroome academy 002 003 current projects and events × hello world! welcome to wordpress. this is your first post. edit or delete it, then start writing! creativity week 2017 – magic & mystery × creativity week 2017 – magic & mystery during creativity week 2017 at fallibroome academy, children from mottram academy created some colourful artwork based around the theme of magic and mystery. fallibroome academy – creativity week 2017 from fallibroome academy on vimeo . pupils explored ‘magic’ of different techniques using brusho and washing up liquid – techniques where there is ‘less control’ – the large canvas was a result of collaborative work where faces were created from prints and a collage of textile trees – the children tried to capture the element of mystery within the composition. see some of the imagery in the photos in this story. arts week – broken cross primary school × arts week – broken cross primary school during the arts week at broken cross primary school, the children produced some stunning pieces of art including “the magic and mystery of under the ocean” banner to which the whole school, including staff, contributed towards meaning the banner measured over 12ft long on completion! there were also “wordscapes” by year 5/6, “the magic of life” poppy canvas by year 3/4 and the “magic us” whole school portraits by rainbow. see some photos of the artwork on this page in the gallery below. creativity week 2016 – change × creativity week 2016 – change creativity week saw fallibroome produce some incredibly innovative, exciting and imaginative responses to the theme of ‘ change ’, providing opportunities for cross-curricular work and a range of activities. students in the library considered the changes they could make in their lives to help create a better society. in history, they reflected on the changes that were brought about by the first world war. in business studies, they looked at product changes. how computers and technology have changed over time was examined by the students in ict lessons. they explored ‘human form’ and distortion to create wire sculptures based on the artist giacometti in art and, in design and technology, they went back to the old school ‘quite literally’ as students experienced what it was like to be taught in the 1950s and much, much more… this year our very own year 7 drama club successfully performed a devised version of ‘ the seven ages of man’ at the presentation evening. the presentation evening was a superb celebration of all the creative work that had taken place in fallibroome and at our partner primary schools. a huge thank you to everyone who supported throughout the week and congratulations to all those involved. welcome to the the (flc) is a partnership between fallibroome and its local primary schools. traditionally, this has included all the schools who are listed on fallibroome’s admission criteria. more recently, this group has expanded to include ‘associate members’ from further afield. all of the partner schools in this group collaborate closely in an attempt to create a continuous learning experience for children attending our schools from the age of 3 to 18. the work of the flc has grown enormously over the years. headteachers from each school meet on a regular basis; we have a ‘development plan’ that describes our key priorities for the year ahead; and governors from each school provide appropriate oversight of this work. at the current time, we are focussing on the following areas: transition from y6 to y7 continuity of expectations in english and maths from y6 to y7 review of assessment and marking approaches in the primary and secondary sector professional development of teachers, particularly in the use of cooperative learning techniques shared projects in the performing arts shared provision for sport and pe other??
